Mariechen Danz (*1980) has been awarded the GASAG Art Prize 2024. In her artistic practice the award-winner explores methods and models of human cognition. In her large installations and performances, she combines scientific frameworks for understanding and describing the world with subjective, alternative and magical perspectives.The human body is a spring-board for her artistic research, serving as a template for new ways to communicate and transcribe knowledge, truth and history. Her works have been shown internationally. Mariechen Danz lives and works in Berlin.
